Are IPL Skin Care Lamps Safe to Use?

IPL skin treatment should only be avoided if you have black skin as it can cause skin damage.

The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) devices flash low energy light into your skin.  This light is filtered to only let through wavelengths beneficial to treating skin conditions (ie it is different to the wavelengths the IPL Hair removal lamps allow through) and these wavelengths penetrate the skin at different depths to target specific areas needed to treat a variety of skin conditions.

So there is no risk of burning or similar issues and there should be no real redness after use so can confidently go out in public and do what you’d normally do the same day you treat yourself.  The IPL system also effectively filters out all UVA and UVB light and most UV light so there is no risk of anything like cancer from even longterm treatment.

As the IPL method does use an extremely bright light it is recommended that you wear safety glasses to protect your eyes.  After treatment, it is also beneficial to apply IPL Post-treatment cream to hydrate, replenish and protect your skin.

So, in summary, there are no side-effectives from IPL Skin Treatment and it’s been scientifically proven to give great results for skin conditions such as Rosacea, age spots, sun damage, vascular or pigmented lesions, as well evening out thin wrinkles
